33 weeks and Christmas Time!

Here is the most recent sonogram picture we have from the doctor. It's his precious little face. I couldn't tell as quickly as Alex could what it was...but I finally saw it after we left the doctor and I was no longer laying down looking at it sideways. We are getting more and MORE excited every day about his arrival and can't wait to finish up the nursery. We have the crib, dresser, and glider. The only thing we are really needing/wanting is a bookshelf and some wall decor. I hope to post pictures soon!
We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas :)
Happy Holidays!!!

27 weeks and counting...

WOW!

We've had a LOT going on in the last month and half. Not only did we pack up and move into a new house, we had guests coming into town for Baby Vest's first Baby Shower within a week of moving in!

This house is coming along great! Everything is in it's place for the most part except for hanging pictures and little knick knacks here and there. I can't WAIT to put up the Christmas decorations and get ready to enjoy the holidays in our new home :)
We were so blessed to have so many family members be able to come into Dallas to help us celebrate this special time. Alex's mom, dad, stepmom, my sister, and a whole crew of Langlois from Baton Rouge. We had a blast all weekend with everyone!!!
The shower was, of course, just perfect. The two Aunts-to-be definitly out did themselves. For starters, the table when I walked in was adorned with sweet baby pictures of Alex and I. Alex's pictures I had never seen! So of course I immediately tear up and get emotional. I think also it just made it all so "real" that yes, this is for YOUR baby! ha... We had so many people there that we cared about and that have been supporting us and loving us throughout this pregnancy, it was awesome! I know after the shower when it was time to load the gifts, Alex was just as overwhelmed as I was throughout the day!!!

So thanks to all, we love you!!!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!

I also had my most recent doctor's appointment today. Everything is great! Strong heartbeat, growing belly and healthy mom - what more can we ask for?!.
We are looking forward to the holidays and can't wait to spend them with our families!!!
Until next time...

Baby Vest is Baby Boy!!!

We had our 19 week sonogram this week and we found out we're having a BOY!!!!! I "knew" it all along :) We could not be MORE excited to finally know so that we can stop calling him an "it". After looking, measuring and inhancing for about 35 minutes, the doctor said he looks healthy and normal! He wouldn't open his legs or move too much, so there is about a 5% chance it's a girl...but we're gonna go with the 95% boy. :) We feel really lucky and blessed thus far in pregnancy.

First Game of the Season

LSU played Saturday night at 9:30! So needless to say neither one of us made it through the whole game. Here are a couple of baby bump pics...more to come really soon. :) This is me at 17 weeks plus...Need an LSU pregnancy shirt, this just barely covered the bump!
9 more days until the sex of Baby Vest!!!!!!!!!

As summer comes to an end...

It's been a while since I've posted so there's lots to write about! My birthday was August 7th! We spent the day together just hanging around attempting to shop. Of course when you go with the intention to spend money...nothing appeals to you! (Have no doubt I made up for it the day after my birthday :) ) So that was a bummer. My mom prepared a wonderful and delicious birthday dinner for Alex and I, Becky, Jim, Patrick, and Emily. It was nice and relaxing...and of course there was CAKE!!! Cookie Cake to be exact, my personal favorite! All in all-great birthday!

That Sunday afternoon we headed down to Austin on our way to San Antonio. I had never been to SA so Alex thought it would be fun to get down there before I had to head back to work. We got to see some great, old friends while in Austin. Thanks to Sean and Brant for dinner and drinks out on the town! :)

San Antonio was fun!...if you can drink!!! hahaha.... It was really nice and relaxing. We had a great hotel and a view of the Alamo from our room. We hung out, shopped a little, ate a little, and just had a really great time together talking about parenthood! (he thinks I'm going to be the pushover. Um, hello? Has he met himself with me? He's a teddy bear!)

Today, August 18th, was the most recent doctor visit that I had. I brought my dad along this time since Alex had to work and this wasn't the "Big" visit. Doc said I probably should be eating more since I've only gained a pound (which means to me that come Christmas, I'll be able to play Santa-no pillow needed.) He said the heartbeat sounded perfectly normal and healthy. :) At this point, I can't ask for much more! I promise to post pictures soon since my belly has decided to pop just a tad within the last few weeks.

Keep your eyes peeled on September 15th....We find out what name to give Baby Vest...Boy or Girl!

Dr. Visit #2...

We had our second appointment with the doc yesterday afternoon. It went really well! We were both a little disappointed that there wasn't an ultra sound, but we still got to hear the heart beat. It's just amazing!!! I could not stop giggling so that kept messing up the sound, and Alex was trying to tell me to be quiet so he could hear and that just made me giggle more! :)
Everything is good, belly (little but growing) looks good, low blood pressure, no weight gain...but that's "normal"....now if this nausea would only go away...

Another weekend over, another week closer...

We had a pretty good weekend! Friday afternoon we lounged around the house and watched Scarface. Friday night we decided to go to Bob's Steak and Chop House for dinner. I was a little nervous because meat hasn't really been "my thing" lately, but I was willing to give it a shot! Dinner was delicious! I really enjoyed it and felt totally fine afterwards.

Saturday Alex got up early to golf at the Club and I slept in!!! I decided to head out to the mall for a little bit. Which turned out to be a zoo! You would think someone with as much retail experience as myselft would have known, but cleary I drew a blank. I picked up a birthday present for my dad and a little something for the dad-to-be. (so much for me finding a new bag)

Saturday afternoon I started to feel really really sick...and then that was the end of that. I was pretty much sick the rest of the day/night...chicken broth and crackers were the only two things I ate the rest of the day. (yuck) We watched Frost/Nixon Saturday night, which was a great movie! If you haven't seen it, its worth watching.

Sunday I finally felt better. So good that I went to the gym! Alex reminded me of "Spa Night" that our gym is having, so I made an appointment for a service...or two. I'm looking forward to those, let me just tell you. I've attached a few pics of some things we've recieved or picked up for the baby. The pacifier is from Jessica, my dear friend from work. The booties and hat are from none other than aunt-to-be Jessica, my sister. And the two little onesies I bought :)

One last note...Finally a "belly" shot and a picture of Father's Day weekend with my dad and sister...when I told him he was going to be a Paw Paw :)

(as far as the picture goes, I'm 11 weeks today)
